Years ago, I stepped into the studio of a friend and respected producer. As I looked around wide-eyed I said, "Wow, there sure are a lot of buttons"...to which he replied, "Yeah, but the most important one is the talent button."
I'm guessing he was just making a point... I've never been able to find that button in any gear catalogue.
At any rate, bendingsound voiceover & production is equipped with all the right buttons to accomplish the task at hand...but more importantly, the expertise to use them.
Here's the main studio equipment list:
Neumann U87- THE industry standard microphone. Ever catch a behind the scenes look of the voice actors performing on the latest Pixar animation? Yep, they're standing in front of a U87...used on more critical recordings than any other microphone in the world.
Pearlman TM-1- What a lovely sounding microphone. This meticulously crafted copy of the famous Neumann U47 is like a silk suit for the human voice. The presence and depth is staggering.
Focusrite ISA 430 MKII- If George Martin of Beatles fame had a hand in designing it, I'll assume its good enough for bendingsound studios. This preamp is known for its open, warm, and natural character.
Pro Tools Digi 002 Rack- Industry standard digital editing, period. More top studios rely on Pro Tools than any other.
Telos Zephyr ISDN- This means I can connect with any other studio in the world and either receive or deliver clean, high quality audio REAL TIME. Pretty dang cool, huh?
Gentner DH-20 Phone Hybrid- Kinda like the above unit, but for thrifty budgets. Clients are able to direct from anywhere via phone, and we can record high quality phone interviews.
Auralex- The bendingsound voiceover & production studio is quiet...REALLY quiet. This is due in part to all the futuristic-looking foam panels covering the walls and ceiling (scroll down for a studio slideshow) The purpose of these panels is to ensure the original performance is clean and dry. We've been told by many production houses that the fidelity of our audio is among the finest they've received...thanks in part to our impeccable acoustics.
Denon CD/Cassette- If you need something transferred from old cassettes into the permanent world of digital, we can handle that.
Marantz Portable Recorder- We're able to go on location and record high quality audio.
